If you live in the Phoenix area, study at the University of Phoenix or if you just plan on visiting the area you may be interested in finding something educational for you and your family. 1. The Phoenix Art Museum is located at 1625 North Central Avenue, Phoenix Arizona 85004. The telephone number is 602-257-1880. The museums regular hours are Tuesday from 10:00am until 9:00pm, Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00am until 5:00pm, and the first Friday evening of each month from 6:00pm until 10:00pm. The regular admission price for adults is $10, for seniors and students with ID the price is just $8. Children between the ages of 6 and 17 pay just $4. Any child under the age of 6 is free. On Tuesday evenings between the hours of 3:00pm an 9:00pm admission to the museum is free as well as on the first Friday of each month between 6:00pm and 10:00pm. The museum also offers guided tours for the duration of one hour. They do have a very strict photograph policy so be sure to check the website for that information. As for parking there is plenty located within close proximity to the museum. Some of the exhibits that you will see on display include, Passport to Europe, Human Nature, and a Tradition Redefined. Some of the exhibits are temporary so be sure to check the website to find out when they end.
2. The Phoenix Museum of History is located at 105 North 5th Avenue, Phoenix Arizona 85003. The telephone number is 602-253-2734. The museums regular hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00am until 5:00pm. The admission fee for adults is $6 and for AAA members the fee is just $4.50. Students and seniors pay just $4 as well as Military personnel and their families. Children between the aged so 7 and 12 pay just $3, and children who are under the age of 6 are free. They also have discounted group rates available as well. There is a parking garage located in Heritage amp; Science Parking Garage right beside the museum. You must have your parking ticket validated to receive the discounted rate. The price range for parking is from $1 to $8. All of the exhibits at this museum is about the history of Phoenix itself an the many things that have happened to help the area grow over the years. Some of the exhibits you will see include the Prehistoric Hohokam, and see a variety of photos and displays of people who help phoenix to grow.
3. The Children’s Museum of Phoenix is located at 215 North 7th Street, Phoenix Arizona. The museum will be open June 14th, 2008 and many are looking forward to seeing what this has to offer. The Museums regular hours will be Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00am until 4:00pm. The admission is free for the grand opening weekend celebration only. After the grand opening of the museum the fee will be $9 for everyone over the age of 1. They will have hands on exhibits where the children can interact and play as well as learn. They have plenty of exhibits that the children will find fun and exciting.
4. Phoenix Police Museum is located at 101 South Central Avenue, Phoenix Arizona 85004. The telephone number is 602-534-7278. The museums regular hours are from 9:00am until 3:00pm. The best part about the museum is that the admission price is free for all. The idea behind not charging admission is so that all can learn about the history of the Phoenix police. On display you will find variety of old artifacts an plenty of photographs that will take you on a walk through history.
